Research and development of innovative methods and sensing technologies
The offer of collaboration covers the potential contribution to a network of (1) field experiments in agricultural, natural or urban environments dedicated to deciphering links between practices/management and soil quality/health, and (2) of laboratories dedicated to soil analysis (physical, chemical, biological properties), as well as to plants and water.
The "Water-Soil-Plant exchanges" dpt from the University of Liège aims at characterizing soil functions at various scales, from small size aggregates to watersheds and broader. The group presents skills in soil physics, soil chemistry and soil geography mainly but also develops researches involving biological-based processes as soil needs holistic approaches. We work with approaches aiming at identifying the most adequate set of indicators according to the issues.
The territory covered by the research includes croplands, rangelands, forested areas and urban areas as well. We propose to offer analytical expertise as well as experimetal fields dedicated to the improvement of soil functions and health, or the monitoring of soil evolution.
