soil resilience, natural water retention, syntropic agroforest
Research and development of innovative methods and sensing technologies
I own a small property located in the West region of Portugal that includes an indigenous forest, mainly pine trees, cork trees and oaks and an area where in former times was used for dry agriculture. I wish to turn the property into a self sustainable property, that has no natural sources of water. My main goal is to improve the biodiversity in the property and the soil quality and resilience reaching a stage where no water, besides the rain water will be needed for fruit and vegetables production, using Syntropic foresty processes and permaculture techniques.
I am open to partner offering my management and project management experience, and also my property for research purposes, while I will be running my project as described above.
I am a private person, coming from a management and project management background. I wish to implement this project using the best practices according to my values and goals. My plan is to collect the data of the progress of this project using structured and systematic approach, so I can share the results of my experience with others and contribute positively to the knowledge about the soil recovery and resilience specially in my location.
