Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry has some long-term experiments on different land use (croplands, grasslands, fallow lands, and afforested lands) and wants to invite you (your institution) to be a partner in research on the topic of “Understanding SOC sequestration (stabilization, storage and persistence)”. We are looking for a research partner who has the scientific interests in SOC sequestration, rotation of land use. If our interest align, this partnership would benefit both institutions.
This project team has some ideas on the topic of “Understanding SOC sequestration (stabilization, storage and persistence)”. The aims are as follows:
to assess the dependence between SOC quantity and SOC quality parameters as humic materials formation under different vegetation/land use type and climate conditions;
to evaluate the impact of land use change on the stable humic substances formation which affects the CO2 emissions from the soil;
to evaluate the of humic substances leaching rate from the topsoil (horizon A) and their impact for the soil properties changes in the subsoil;
to identify structural differences between microorganism communities and enzymes involved in organic matter destruction processes under different land uses.
We are looking forward to welcoming institutions from different countries as corresponding partners.
Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry is state research institution. We focus on the generation, garner and dissemination of new scientific know-how geared to awareness of sustainable land, forest and environment resources, their competitive development and use, elaboration of innovative technologies and products. LAMMC research groups and open access infrastructure make us competitive in HORIZON EUROPE program, especially cluster 6 - Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment. We are seeking for joint multidisciplinary collaboration for HE and other projects.
