We are interested in joining the consortium (Topic A or B) as a partner. VTT offerings to the consortium:
- Characterization of microbial biodiversity (bacteria, archaea, fungi) with amplicon-based sequencing (bacterial and
archaeal 16S, fungal ITS) and metagenome sequencing.
- Molecular biological methods (qPCR) related to carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus cycling and bacterial, archaeal, and
fungal abundance.
- Enzymatic activity testing:
C cycling (beta-glucosidase)
N cycling (N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase and leucine aminopeptidase)
P cycling (alkaline phosphatase)
- Microbial activity in soil (e.g. ATP)
- Pot experiments in controlled conditions
- VTT’s culture collection containing 6800 microbial isolates (including isolates from soil)
- Biocontrols for plant pathogens
